Dr. Madeleine “Maddie” Horner received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of New England in 2023. She earned UNE’s Distinguished Scholar Award for her efforts in collaboration with faculty and peers in conducting academic and market research on ACL injury rehabilitation as well as developing a scoping review protocol for current ACL injury treatment. She completed clinical experiences across New England in the settings of acute care and outpatient orthopedics, with emphases on emphases on manual techniques, functional therapeutic activities, aquatic therapy, and sports rehabilitation. Her other professional interests include pelvic health PT and sports rehabilitation.
Dr. Maddie is looking forward to beginning her career as a new graduate with WSPT and is eager to begin her NOMPT certifications. She has a particular professional interesting in pelvic health PT and sports rehabilitation.
Dr. Maddie received her B.S in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy from San Diego State University, as well as an honors minor in Interdisciplinary Studies as a member of the Weber’s Honors College.
While Dr. Maddie was born in San Diego, her family moved, and she was raised in New Hampshire until making the decision to move back for undergrad. During her time in high school, she was very active in the community and played varsity and travel basketball, earning multiple state championships. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, going to the gym, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
