Dr. Michael Nobles PT, DPT, completed his undergraduate degree at San Diego State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy) and a minor in Cognitive & Behavioral Neuroscience. He continued his post-graduate studies at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences where he graduated with highest honors and attained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. The University of St. Augustine provided him with a strong background in orthopedic and manual physical therapy techniques.
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and consummate clinician, Dr. Nobles is passionate about helping his patients return to the activities they love through a unique combination of rehabilitation and performative fitness techniques. He utilizes manual techniques such as: soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, active muscle pumping, pin and stretch, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, myofascial decompression, as well as skilled therapeutic exercises to address tissue dysfunctions, decrease pain, and restore total function to desired activities. With this combination of manual treatments and specialized exercises, Dr. Nobles helps individuals maximize their recovery. He believes in thoroughly assessing multiple aspects of the body through a specialized design and comprehensive plan of care in order to identify and effectively treat the root cause of an injury and to prevent future injuries.
Before his time with WSPT, Dr. Nobles underwent extensive hands-on training at the esteemed Georgetown University Medical Hospital in Washington, DC where he treated a variety of patients with varying injuries and fitness levels – including, but not limited to, post-surgical patients, patients with neurological conditions, patients with chronic pain, and elite athletes.
Dr. Nobles is currently working towards completing his certification in Strength and Conditioning performance which emphasizes the use of specialized exercises and high level fitness techniques to directly improve performance of a patient/athlete at any level who is currently limited by injury.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Nobles enjoys weightlifting, pick-up basketball, and going on hikes/runs around beautiful San Diego with his 3 year-old black lab named Ozzy. These activities not only keep him active but also give him a greater appreciation for the importance of physical health and wellness.
