Dr. Salvatore “Torry” Fantano PT, DPT, received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos CA where he graduated with honors. During Dr. Salvatore’s multiple clinical rotations in both Colorado and in California, he worked with athletes as well as spine, shoulder, hip, and knee issues where he utilized his passion for manual therapy and applied functional rehabilitation.
Dr. Salvatore is currently working on his certification in Myofascial Decompression MFDc, as well as his Fall Prevention Certification CFPS. He is also a participant in the weekly WSPT mentorship program with an emphasis on Manual Therapy of the Spine and Extremities.
Dr. Salvatore grew up in Scripps Ranch, a suburb of San Diego where he attended Scripps Ranch High school while being very active in a variety of sports, competing in soccer, La crosse, pole vault, and men’s gymnastics. Dr. Salvatore went on to compete on the Arizona State University Men’s Gymnastics Team winning multiple national titles. After graduating Arizona State University, Dr. Salvatore served in the US Navy as a Naval Aviator flying over 50 missions as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
During active duty in the US Navy, Dr. Salvatore started having low back pain prompting him to seek treatment. During the rehabilitation process Dr. Salvatore developed a passion for physical therapy, thus motivating him to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Dr. Salvatore continues to be active in sports during his free time. He coaches gymnastics at the Mission Valley YMCA and plays both soccer and softball recreationally. Dr. Salvatore is also an avid surfer, hiker, and enjoys rock climbing.
