Dr. Paula Stonehouse, DPT, earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Duke University where she developed a strong foundation in manual therapy, sports injury rehab, and musculoskeletal impairments. During her clinical training, she worked in orthopedics, neurorehabilitation, and pediatric sports rehabilitation where she utilized her skills in applied functional rehabilitation and sports performance.
Paula is dedicated to optimizing health and mobility in her patients.. Her professional interests lie in orthopedics and sports rehabilitation, driven by her desire to help individuals regain functionality and achieve a fulfilling quality of life.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy at CSUSM, where she competed on the women’s cross country and track team. Paula draws from her background as an athlete and a sports performance coach in order to get the best outcomes for her patients
Paula has extensive experience working with youth athletes at the Parisi Speed School as well as other sports performance centers before she went to Duke for her doctoral degree. Drawing from her background as an athlete and a sports performance coach, Paula enjoys treating those with sports medicine injuries, working with all athletic abilities, in particular with youth athletes, and helping them optimize their recovery and return to sport.
Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys playing soccer, surfing, swimming, hiking, exploring new places, and spending time with her family and friends.
