Denette Sasis completed her undergraduate degree at San Diego State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy. She continued on to work in various outpatient orthopedic settings as a Rehabilitation Exercise Aide for over five years. It was during this time that Denette gained the valuable experience that solidified her desire to continue to impact the lives of others by empowering patients to improve their function and quality of life.
Denette was first introduced to the physical therapy world through her dad’s healthcare journey where she personally witnessed the transformative power of improving movement, strength, and function in daily life. She learned the importance of tailoring activities and support based on individual patient needs and goals early on and has remained committed to extending the same principals to her patients.
Denette graduated from the highly competitive San Diego Mesa College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program with honors and obtained her professional degree and licensure in 2022. Her clinical experience ranges from inpatient acute care, outpatient orthopedic, and inpatient rehabilitation centered on neurological diagnoses. Denette’s love for exercise, helping and connecting with others, teaching, and using her hands for manual therapy eventually led her back to the outpatient orthopedic setting for employment. Having been introduced to WSPT during her scholastic studies, Denette knew that Water and Sports Physical Therapy would be the perfect place to continue to grow and improve her skill set, and continues this while working toward the highest level of orthopedic excellence through the American Physical Therapy Association Advanced Proficiency Pathway Program.
Denette is passionate about helping her patients achieve a higher quality of life. She loves to educate and encourage others and is committed to providing the warm and compassionate care to her patients that she would expect for her own family members. In her spare time, Denette enjoys spending time with her loved ones, hanging with her doggy Ace (he’s very cute, ask for pictures), rock climbing, hiking, and playing guitar and keyboard.
